Amanda Luzzader writes post-apocalyptic and horror novels for adults. She also writes children's books under the name A.M. Luzzader. She specializes in writing books for preteens. A.M.’s fantasy adventure series A Mermaid in Middle Grade is a magical coming of age book for ages 8-12. She is also the author of the Hannah Saves the World series, which is a children’s mystery adventure, also for ages 8-12.
A.M. decided she wanted to write fun stories for kids when she was still a kid herself. By the time she was in fourth grade, she was already writing short stories. In fifth grade, she bought a typewriter at a garage sale to put her words into print, and in sixth grade she added illustrations. Now that she has decided what she wants to be when she grows up, A.M. writes books for children full time. She was selected as the Writer of the Year in 2019-2020 by the League of Utah Writers. A.M. has published over 20 novels and dozens of short stories.
